Top questions

Do I need my own detector?

Loaners, recommended models, and when you should bring your own.

For beginner cohorts, loaner units are available (first-come, first-served) and included in your lab fee. For Intermediate and Advanced tracks, we expect students to bring gear listed in the syllabus so you can practice with a consistent setup between sessions.

  • We’ll help you set ground balance and sensitivity safely.
  • Headphones and a handheld pinpointer are strongly recommended.

Are your courses legal in my area?

How we teach compliance, permits, and permission workflows.

We teach permission workflows and local compliance (public land guidelines, private property consent, and protected-site rules). Always verify site-specific permissions before fieldwork; regulations can change and can differ by park, municipality, or heritage status.

If you share your city/region in the Ask form, we’ll reply with a checklist of what to confirm (permit office, park code, protected zones, and reporting expectations).

Is there a certificate?

Digital verification, requirements, and what it covers.

Yes. Complete all labs and assessments to receive a verifiable digital certificate. The certificate summarizes proficiency areas like target identification basics, recovery technique, field notes, and compliance practices.

You can request an updated certificate after advanced assessments if you want the credential to reflect your latest track.

Refund policy

What’s refundable, what becomes credit, and timing rules.

Full refund within 7 days before the cohort start date. After that, prorated credit may apply depending on seat utilization and materials already issued.

  • If you can’t attend, ask about a transfer to the next cohort.
  • Digital goods (downloadable kits) may be non-refundable once delivered.

What if I miss a session?

Make-ups, notes, and keeping pace with your cohort.

If you miss a session, we’ll provide a structured catch-up plan (reading + lab checklist) and schedule a short Q&A slot when available. Some labs can be repeated in a later cohort; availability depends on instructor capacity and location constraints.

Do you offer invoices or receipts?

Proof of payment for employers and reimbursements.

Yes. After payment, we can issue a receipt and, upon request, an invoice with your details. Use the Ask form and include the name/address you want on the document.
